Dude, I have something I need to vent.
Let me start by saying... I'm not a big drinker, I can't handle too much alcohol, and I just don't go out enough times to know enough about drinks.
Well.... this week I'm working in Napa Valley. Talk about wine country. Well I'm a little peeved right now with a coworker. He's one of those.. "dude I love wine and know so much about wine" guys. And I feel bad b/c all I wanna do after work is grab a quick bite and go back to my hotel room, and do my own stuff. But I can't not have dinner with him ya know? But dude.. it's only Monday (we arrived yesterday) and this guy is like.. .wine wine wine. He's totally abusing our budget out here (dinner tonight was $82 without tip) and he ordered wine for me (like 3 glasses of different wines) and insisted I taste each one. I had to sit there for over an hour listening to him tell me the difference between each wine I was drinking (meanwhile I'm thinking who gives a sh*t, they all taste the same). I swear, if I hear the words "robust," "pinot," "chardonnay" one more time I'm gonna scream. I can't believe I have to travel/work with this guy for another 2 weeks. We have NOTHING in common. He tries to talk about "sophisticated" things all the time. He uses words like "egalitarian" all the time. ARGHHHH!!!! Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and I'm sure his work is fine, but it's just so frustrating to be out of town with someone you have nothing in common with. |
