So the big news today... Faith Hill's reaction to Carrie Underwood winning female vocalist of the year. You've all probably seen the clip on YouTube, but if you didn't, FH pretty much looks pissed off that she didn't win and shouts WHAT! into the camera before storming off. I watched all of the CMAs last night but I didn't catch this until I saw it on YouTube.
I read a bunch of articles on this, and FH claims that she was just joking and she would never treat fellow country singers with disrespect. A lot of fans also believe she was joking because they feel she wouldn't be dumb enough to react that way in front of the cameras.
I for one think she was NOT joking. Her reaction looked very natural and she probably expected to win, therefore her shock/anger was just instinctive. Even if she really was joking... what the heck kind of "joke" is that? I find it hard to believe she would "joke" about it by thinking "hmm I know what would be hilarious... if I were to pretend I was pissed off if I didn't win" Ummm yah. Nice try.
I like FH songs, but I wonder how Faith would've reacted if it were the other nominees who won. I think she's upset that Carrie is so new to the country scene, and that she didn't even get there through normal country music conventions. Whatever, I like Carrie and good for her that she won.
In the end, I don't really care whether she was joking or not. I just seriously love watching that clip over and over again. It's hilarious. Do I believe she was really pissed and acting like a soreloser? Yes. Do I hate FH now? No. |

Hey I blogged about this too, GMTA! haha. I think that she wasn't joking around either but you're right, the clip is just TOO funny that I keep watching it over and over again to laugh, oh gosh talk about good times! LOL.
With all the, "she was just joking business" it's like, yeah right..you were hating on her, you aint gotta lie about it...LOL.
I'm so over her and Tim anyway, they're like sooo last season for me, but I don't hate her, I just like Carrie better and am super happy for Carrie!

I heard about this, but I didn't watch the awards. I don't think we even get coverage for this?? Anywho, I just had a quick look at the clip..and whoa. Yeah, it doesn't look like she was kidding. In fact, when she raised her hands up, it looked like she thought SHE had won.
I had always imagined FH to be this gracious lady, but meh, maybe not. Hehe. But that doesn't mean I don't like her - because I don't know her. And that doesn't mean I don't like her music, because I think it's awesome. But I'm glad Carrie won the award, her stuff ROCKS!
