Help, I'm in a Reading Slump!
Wednesday, December 26, 2007
Ugh, I'm in a reading slump again. Every book I pick up, I put back down 2 seconds after reading the back summary. Nothing is capturing my interest these days. Which is ridiculous considering I've got over 100 books sitting in my TBR pile (to-be-read for you non-book bloggers). Last two books I read were really old historicals by Karen Robards. They were VERY late 80's/early 90's ish, but not that bad. It was like watching a reality show that involves people bickering over stupid crap, but you keep watching anyway because you just want to know how it will finally end.

So after those two books, I'm pretty much at a standstill. I know Holly gave me some cookbooks to read (thanks Holly!) but they're pretty blah so far. One was just downright dumb, The Renegade's Woman by Nikita Black. Talk about lame. (Side note: If you click on that link, apparently 4 customers on Amazon gave it a 5 star rating. *rolls eyes* End Side note) It was a western historical cookbook, and I've never read this type before. Honestly, there's something not right to me about making an erotica set in those times. Then there was that one scene with the berries on a stick. Umm yah, I'll just leave it at that and let your creative mind stew for a bit. Now I'm in the middle of another one, and it's pretty lame too. I'm to the point where I don't even wanna finish it, and I can't even remember the title to warn you that it's lame.

So please, someone, anyone, help! I haven't read anything good in so long. And by so long, I mean a good solid four days. Pretty sad huh?

    I'm sorry sweetie. I'm in a reading/reviewing slump too.

Aww, poor baby! You need to try Elizabeth Hoyt and Jo Goodman. Both are fab authors and should get you out of your slump.

Hmm, what else? Sarah McCarty was pretty good (the Promises books). Oh, I know, go back and re-read Heart of Fire. That should cure you. LOL

I just saw you were reading NATURAL BORN CHARMER on your sidebar that's a good book. I'm so late posting you probably have found something by now, but I always recommend Jennifer Crusie's BET ME, almost any Deborah Smith book (CROSSROADS CAFE is great) and SEP which you are already reading. Hey, have you read all the older Linda Howard books? How about SHADES OF TWILIGHT one of my faves?

Ooh thanks for the suggestions ladies.

Yah you can never go wrong rereading HoF, I can't get enough of Ben Lewis.

Rosie- I just finished Natural Born Charmer. I'm actually a bit disappointed, I didn't dislike it, but I really don't think it's as good as the classic Chicago Stars stuff. I might do a quick review so I can explain more.
