I Am Legend
Wednesday, December 26, 2007

I hate scary things. Happy clowns, evil clowns, dolls, snakes, etc. I am a chicken when it comes to scary movies. The kind of scary that has things popping out of nowhere. If it's rated R, forget it. No way I'm watching that. PG-13 is the max rating I will take. I think the last scary movie I saw was AVP (not the one in theatres now, the PG-13 one).

I only survived AVP because it had so many corny scenes. Like when the predator made the woman an official warrior or whatever by scraping her cheek with the poison tip and someone in the audience shouted "suck his dick!" Or how about the movie Deep Blue Sea? Supposed to be scary, but with LL Cool J in it, it wasn't so bad. Anyway, the point is, I get scared but it only lasts during the movie. I know that stuff is fake, and I never let it get to me after the movie.

Until I saw I Am Legend this weekend. Holy crap, this movie was scary. I only saw the one preview for it, and I seriously didn't know it was a "zombie" movie. I won't spoil it all for you, but let's just say there were a lot of jumpy scenes, and I spent most of the movie covering my eyes/ears. When my cousins took me home, my parents weren't there and I was actually scared. I flipped on all the light switches and turned on the TV in my room. Today, I got home from work and same thing, no one home! With the wind howling outside, I was even more frightened. Oh boy. I need to get over this before I'm afraid of my own shadow.

Really though, it's a good movie. And Will Smith's acting really stands out. I don't think I'll be seeing another scary movie for awhile, but I'm glad my cousins dragged me out to this one. Go see it!

It totally freaked me out!!!! I haven't seen a scary movie in forever because Will hates them, but my dad took us, so he went. I think he has permanent scarring from me gripping his hand.
